Jason “Scrappy” Leblanc
I grew up playing several different sports, but primarily stuck with football throughout my high school career. In college I played intramural sports; however, when I graduated College, I stopped working out and really had no physical activity for 8 years until I started at CrossFit August of 2013. So, even though I worked out in high school and college, I was a beginner when I started CrossFit Wrath.
My first few classes were definitely hard, but there is something about working out with a great group of people who help you and struggle alongside with you that got me hooked on CrossFit. The coaching staff at Wrath changed my life.
CrossFit Wrath got me back into a regular workout schedule, which made a huge immediate improvement in my quality of life. During my journey at CrossFit Wrath, the coaches taught me how to lift again, and also helped give me guidance on my meal planning. Through hard work at the box and work on my diet, I was able to lose 40lbs in about a year. I know what it is like to struggle. We all start somewhere in our CrossFit journey, and at CrossFit Wrath I have gained another family because that is what it is — an extended family. This made me want to help other people, so in January of 2015 I took my CF-L1 cert in order to start helping people at CrossFit Wrath the way Coach Zach helped me.
What you may not know about Scrappy: I have a beautiful wife Colleen (also a Wrathian), and a chocolate lab named Maggie. I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in 1993, so I know what it is like to deal with a life threatening disease. Where there is a will there is a way, and I’ve never let it hold me back.
Alex graduated in 2010 from Texas A&M University with a degree in Marketing. Active her whole life, but not exactly into organized sports, she discovered CrossFit in 2009 after leaving the Texas A&M Equestrian team and immediately fell in love with the community aspect and constantly changing workouts. Alex got her L1 in January 2014 and made a complete career change in May 2014 to become a full time Personal Trainer and CrossFit Coach.
Through training her various clients and many failed diet/nutrition experiments on herself she came to really understand the importance of dialed in nutrition and how complex and personal it could be.
In 2017, Alex launched 22Fit Nutrition, an online based nutrition coaching service, that specifically focuses on clients individual lifestyles and needs to help them reach their health and fitness goals. When Alex isn’t coaching or training, she loves traveling with her husband, snuggling with their two rescue dogs, horseback riding, cooking, and balancing Houston’s delicious food scene with her macros 🙂
